Job Description
Front Office Developer (Python) – Commodities/Trading (Permanent)

Location: London/Hybrid

Salary: 70-90k + Bonus

Are you an experienced or passionate Front Office Python Developer looking to broaden your horizons in a Full Service Price Risk Management company? If so this could certainly be an opportunity worth considering.

Working with some of the biggest names in the industry, this exciting pioneer in price risk management, has made it very clear that their rapid expansion is not over – in fact the business has committed to a significant head count increase and are looking for a talented Front Office Developer to join their team of passionate and highly-skilled technology professionals to design and develop a Greenfield platform that will consolidate pricing feeds, trade capture, risk management and execution systems.

Key Responsibilities:

* Work closely with the Regional Head of Energy, Asia and Head of Energy Trading – Global Books to design and build a new pricing, risk management and execution system.

* Provide BAU support to existing applications and help to improve the legacy codebase.

* Collaborate with the infrastructure team/technology and other areas of the business to support the build out of this new platform.

Key Requirements

* Experience working as a software developer for a trading firm, energy utility, or financial institution.

* Experience working within a front office environment, engaging with front office stakeholders.

* Ideally worked previously on RAD/Agile projects, with fast turnarounds on delivering new code.

* Inquisitive and driven with a high attention to detail.

* Ability to work to challenging deadlines and in a pressurized environment.

* Effective problem-solving skills coupled with a “can-do” attitude. Technical Skills Required Proven experience in Python development.

* Previous experience working with Excel/VBA and related third party add-ins/APIs.

* Good understanding of object orientated and functional programming paradigms.

* Good understanding of relational databases (e.g. SQL Server/Oracle) and/or object databases (e.g. Mongo DB).
