Client Accountant

Hybrid / Cheltenham

Permanent

up to £40,000

Exciting opportunity in the Insurance Sector

The Opportunity

To manage the team providing a professional accounting service to the clients, ensuring that all responsibilities, services and deliverables below are carried out in an accurate, timely, relevant, compliant and cost-effective manner.

Tasks will include:

Responsible for line management of the team, ensuring the team delivers agreed services to clients in the manner described above. Services may include but are not limited to:

* Ensuring client records are maintained and up to date, with all ledgers reconciled for review by the Client Manager.

* Consolidation of the financial reports and returns.

* Preparing, checking and processing journals and reference data on ledger.

* Approving payments in line with relevant delegated authority and monitoring/resolving outstanding invoices/statements.

* Monitoring cash movements and balances and escalating to the Client Manager when required.

* Liaising with regulatory bodies, auditors and clients.

Personal Profile

Essential:

* Qualified accountant or qualified by experience

* Experience of preparing management accounts and Annual report and financial statements

* High professional ethics

* Customer focussed

* Able to prioritise and plan to meet deadlines, even when they conflict

* Good communicator and team player with a committed, professional, and positive attitude

* Effective problem-solving skills

* Excellent MS Excel/Word/Outlook skills

Preferred:

* Experience of general insurance finance, including regulatory returns

* Good knowledge of SUN/Q&A accounting software.
