Job Description
SF Recruitment have the pleasure of partnering with a client based in Ilkeston who are looking for a Permanent Senior Accounts Payable Officer to join a highly successful and stable, small finance team. The company offer hybrid working, typically two days from home and three days in the office.

This is an interesting position, that will offer brilliant exposure and development opportunities to the successful candidate.

Job Overview:

Support the Finance Administrators and Finance Officers, offering training, guidance and ensure that all Finance Officers & Administrators are completing daily tasks in an accurate and timely manner.

Oversee the Accounts Payable Function, ensuring all invoices and expense claims are processed daily and paid accurately to terms, highlighting any concerns to the Accounting Services Manager.

Work alongside the Accounting Services Manager to drive process improvement.

Key Responsibilities for the Senior Officer:

– Key Support and resolve complex queries, highlighting any issues to the Accounting Services Manager.

– Help assist and drive continuous improvement.

– Contribute to the development of finance systems, policies, and practice.

– Ensure the team are delivering pre and post month end task.

– Assist in Audits when required.

– Month End Close & Reporting, including bank and balance sheet reconciliations.

Delivering Service:

– Oversee Accounts Payable Function- Ensuring invoices are posted daily, and approvals requested within the correct tolerance levels.

– Oversee the Expenses Function and Petty Cash, ensuring these are cleared daily.

– Monthly Review of Accounts Payable Function, ensuring Supplier Statements are reconciled and balanced monthly.

– Month End Journals for Accounts Payable Function

– First point of contact within the Accounts Payable Function for query resolution.

– Ensure all relevant reports are run daily by the Finance Officers/Administrators and uploaded daily accurately onto the accounting systems.

– To provide meaningful reporting information within agreed timescales to the Business Partners.

– Work Collaboratively with 2nd Senior Finance Officer to support/cover the delivery of the following, Daily Bank Reconciliations, Weekly BACs payments, Monthly and Quarterly Rents reports.

– Any other task that may be deemed necessary from time to time by Management.

Teamwork:

– Be an active member of the Finance Team to provide an effective and efficient accounts function.

– Participate, with other staff, in providing a broad range of activities and services.

Development:

– Participate in staff meetings, supervision meetings, training, team development sessions and other meetings as required, reporting back to the team as appropriate.

– Undertake development activities as necessary and appropriate to the role
