The Role:

As an Internal Audit Manager, you’ll be responsible to the audit & risk team undertaking audit activity and supporting the business in its overall performance, improving its internal controls environment.

This is not just an audit role, you’ll be responsible for leading proper risk reviews faced by the business and mitigating any behaviours based on your findings.

What’s great about this position is that some audit and risk functions can be seen to be the poor relatives of a business, a kind of “us vs them” approach, whereas here, it goes to the very top and you’ll be rubbing shoulders with your executives every quarter talking about your reviews, probably over a Starbucks (no joke). You’ll get to see and review, everything!

What you’ll need:

Well, firstly you’ll be a qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA) who is ideally experienced in the retail sector or an FTSE-listed business.

There is a preference for someone looking to make their first move to industry having spent time in audit from a top 50 recognised accountancy practice.

You’ll have sound influencing skills and someone that can articulate themselves well and on occasion, deliver difficult messages.

The most important thing here is that you’re able to deliver these corporate-type messages in a company that prides itself on not having a typical corporate ethos and style – I call it personality!

What you’ll get

A competitive basic salary of £50,000 – £55,000 + an annual bonus.
