Job Description
Portfolio are proud to be exclusively representing our client who provide Legal Expenses and General Liability insurance products to its intermediary business partners, brokers and MGAs. They have developed into a BBB secure rated insurer and will soon be launching its first Combined Liability insurance product offering to the Commercial SME sector. They are an established business with a strong client portfolio and are now looking to take on exciting new opportunities by expanding their product range.
Overall Purpose
The Graduate Risk & Compliance Analyst will partake in a structured training programme which will cover various functions of the business namely Risk & Compliance, Underwriting, Finance, and Claims. This is an opportunity to receive on the job training and gain an understanding of the insurance business and the products that they provide. The products that Irwell currently underwrites are Legal Expenses, General Liability, and Miscellaneous Financial. The end goal being that the graduate will work as part of a dedicated and innovative team with a diverse set of responsibilities in a Risk & Compliance Analyst position. This role will provide a graduate with an exciting opportunity to be exposed to all aspects of running and developing the business during a period of expected growth.
We are looking for someone with an interest in Insurance, who is keen to join the business with a desire to learn and a willingness to challenge themselves. There will be an opportunity to gain relevant professional qualifications.
Key roles and Responsibilities as a Graduate Risk and Compliance Analyst:
Reporting to the Risk & Compliance Manager, this is a critical role in administering the risk, business continuity and regulatory and legal compliance programme within Irwell.
Core duties following the training programme will include the following:
Operational risk management – supporting the business units in identifying, managing and controlling the risks they face.
Policies and Procedures – analyse the effectiveness of policies and procedures in controlling the risks the business faces and making recommendations for improvement.
Regulatory compliance – providing advice and support to business units on compliance issues and supporting the business to comply with its regulatory reporting requirements.
Business continuity management – analysing the effectiveness of the business continuity processes in place and making recommendations for improvement
