Job Description
Job title: Group Reporting Accountant

Our client is a a leading speciality insurance group headquartered in London.

They are now looking to hire a Group Reporting Manager. This is a full-time, permanent role offering a mixture of remote and onsite working.

The role will be responsible for the preparation and review of the group company internal and external reports, associated management information and other project work. The candidate will also prepare analytical tools and reports to support the information produced.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIIES:

* Responsible for the production and review of group consolidated reporting to parent, comprising:
* Monthly and quarterly consolidated management reporting, including:
o Related party transaction reporting including inter-group reinsurance arrangements.
o IFRS conversion process for risk margins, discounting, and liability adequacy testing.
o Conducting Balance Sheet and Income Statement analysis reviews, investigating trends & variances, and ensuring satisfactory resolution of queries.
* Half and full year IFRS group templates, explanatory notes and segment reporting.
* Annual non-statutory IFRS compliant consolidated accounts, explanatory notes and associated management information.
* Annual production of data to support rating agencies reviews.
* Ensuring compliance with group accounting policies.
* The responsibility includes all necessary liaison with parties involved in the process, including actuaries, underwriters and other areas of Finance, to ensure the end result is delivered in the time frame, and to the standards required.
* Preparation and maintenance of timetables related to group consolidated reporting.
* Technical support and advice to the group and wider Finance team on accounting treatments.
* Participation in purchase accounting and acquisition integration.
* Managing and co-coordinating the preparation of UK GAAP/FRS 102 legal entity statutory financial statements for the group's UK subsidiaries.
* Production of legal entity management accounts to support group financing and LOC covenants, as well as inter-group dividends.
* Support the group and legal entity audit process; liaising with internal and external auditors at the highest level and ensuring that all the information required is produced and the audits are completed on time.
* Contributing to a robust control environment.
* Maintaining a sound system of internal controls.
* Responsible for the documentation of procedures affecting the areas under supervision.
* Collaboration in the development of process and reporting improvements for increased accuracy, efficiency and timeliness.
* Active participation on finance transformation project and other relevant projects, with a focus on group reporting requirements.
* Involvement in IFRS 17 post project implementation, including 1 direct report.

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE:

Essential

Experience working in a "Big 4" or "Top 10" audit and advisory firm
Experience in preparing, reviewing, auditing consolidated accounts for a large group of companies
Exposure to reporting activities to senior management committees
Desirable
Experience with Lloyd's of London Syndicate accounting and reporting
Exposure to the Lloyd's market as an accountant or an auditor

TECHNICAL SKILLS:

Essential
Working knowledge of consolidation procedures
Working knowledge of IFRS, UK GAAP, Companies Act
Advanced experience of using Excel
Advanced report writing skills
Very good verbal communication
Desirable
Exposure to insurance accounting standards

CIMA / ACCA / CA
