Job Description
An excellent opportunity has come for a part-qualified Financial Accountant to join an extremely successful, market-leading business based in the Bolton area. The business are looking for an ambitious and adaptable Financial Accountant to join their dynamic finance function on a permanent basis. This role also offers a hybrid working model.

As the Financial Accountant you will be responsible for the reconciling and analysing the UK business payroll. You will ensure that the payroll balances in the balance sheet are measured accurately, are complete and reconciled. You will understand the drivers of variations in payroll costs.

Key Responsibilities:

Reconciling payroll reports to general ledger and bank statements
Understanding payroll adjustments and ensuring these are correctly reflected in the general ledger
Reconciling payroll bank account
Understand UK group central payroll payment process ensuring payroll is reflected accurately in all business units
Monitor the payroll journal automation process ensuring transactions that are posted to default account is cleared
Responsibility for headcount reporting, reconciling movement in staff numbers in year to leavers/joiners listings
Responsible for answering audit queries for both internal and external audits
Understand the drivers behind movements in salary costs and complete quarterly analytical reviews
Understand the payroll balance sheet accounts, ensuring balances are understood, accurate and complete.
Standardise calculation and processing of payroll accruals and check for accuracy on a monthly basis
Complete balance sheet reconciliations for all payroll related accountKey Skills/Experience Required:

Part-Qualified CIMA, ACCA, ACA
Experience working in a finance team
Understanding of payroll /pensions statutory compliance
Prior experience of working with an outsourced organisation is desirable but not mandatory
Proficient in relevant IT platforms
Good communication skills on all levels
Strong results orientation
