Role Summary:

Akton Resourcing are looking for a Finance Manager to join the Enfield Council. We are looking for a Head of Service level accountant with extensive experience of Adult Social Care finance. The successful candidate will need to fully cover the role supporting and advising the Adult Social Care Director and leading on all aspects of financial management for the directorate. This include budget setting, monitoring and closure of the statutory accounts.

Further, it is a time of significant change and you will need to be working with the director and senior officers in the directorate to implement the adult social care reforms including the £86,000 care cap. The post reports into the Head of Business Finance Partnering and Finance Director. We're looking for a start ASAP.

The Ideal Candidate:

Essential:

1. A CCAB accountancy qualification, or part qualified and actively studying for such a qualification, or able to demonstrate an equivalent level of skills, knowledge and understanding of accountancy and financial matters through a significant amount of relevant experience

2. Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of local government finance, budgeting and accounting, and experience in providing high level advice, support and challenge on a variety of complex financial and service issues

3. Excellent numerical and analytical skills, including the ability to analyse and interpret detailed and complex financial and other information, to develop and use financial management systems and to have the confidence and ability to train and develop others in the use and application of such systems

4. Experience of successfully managing finance and other staff including performance management, personal and professional development, and the confidence and ability to lead and develop staff through a wide range of managerial relationships to achieve objectives

5. Substantial experience of providing financial advice and support to senior officers, members and external stakeholders
