THE PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

The objective of the role is to be the conduit between the business and finance to identify trends and opportunities. Create action plans to improve profitability and increase efficiency both in finance and across the wider business. You will work with operational teams to identify opportunities and mitigate risks as well as supporting internal customers in all finance related matters including budgeting, forecasting, reporting and cost control. This is a purely business partnering role, whilst there are no month-end responsibilities knowledge and experience of the accounting function is necessary to be successful in the role.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

• Weekly and Monthly KPI Reporting: Production and development of regular MI to allow the business to make effective decisions and drive performance. Working with the business and finance to identify and fill the MI needs required to achieve our plans.
• Drive performance reviews to monitor and challenge the business, ensuring financials are insightful and drive decision making.
• Process and system improvements: Identify and collaborate with finance and IT to action process and system improvements, demonstrating a continuous-improvement mindset.
• Finance lead on projects necessary to deliver our strategic objectives.
• Cost Monitoring: Setting up and monitoring internal cost and headcount budgets including reviews with the budget owners.
• Month end closure: Feeding into the month end closure variance analysis and commentary to turn the numbers into a story that facilitates the decision-making process.
• Forecasting and Budgeting assistance: Weekly and monthly forecasting, quarterly forecasting, and annual budgets.
• Ad-hoc analysis as required

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

• Advanced Excel skills with ability to analyse large volume of data
• Experience of a purely business partnering role
• Strong financial modelling and stakeholder management skills
• Power BI experience is desirable
• Fully qualified or newly qualified accountant

Location: Kettering – Hybrid and Remote
Salary: £50,000
Hours: 37.5 Monday to Friday.
