Bookkeeper Job in Poole

Our professional and established client in the Poole area are recruiting a Bookkeeper to take care of their company day to day financial tasks. The successful Bookkeeper will be responsible for both accounts payable and receivable along with payroll and bank account management and reconciliation tasks. To do well in this Bookkeeper role you should be proficient in MS Excel and have previous experience as a Bookkeeper and have used Xero.

Duties and Responsibilities:

* Monitoring an accounts inbox

* Recording day-to-day financial transactions and completing the posting process

* Processing subcontractor invoices

* Monitoring financial transactions and reports

* Processing accounts receivable and payable

* Processing cheques

* Understanding ledgers

* Petty cash recording

* Handling monthly payroll using accounting software

* Management of company credit card statements and expenses

* Monthly submission of returns in line with HMRC Regulations

Skills and Experience:

* Experience of general accounting practices with knowledge of VAT, and Xero preferable

* Strong Microsoft Office Skills (Outlook, Excel, and Word)

* A can-do attitude and willingness to learn

* Able to prioritise and be self-motivated

* Excellent communication skills

* Positive telephone manner

* Good time management with the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines as required

* Attention to detail and problem-solving skills

Salary and Benefits:

* A salary of £25,000 – £28,000 per annum

* Full time position with flexible working

* Working Monday – Friday 9.00 am – 5.00 pm

* Company Pension Scheme
