Job Description
Are you a Qualified accountant or degree educated in Economics, and looking for a career move? Our client is Northern Irelands main public transport provider and have a permanent 37.5 hr week role as a Financial Planning Manager which might be your next best career move.

The role is based in Belfast City centre within their Finance team where you would be responsible for the production of business cases and post project evaluations for capital projects. You would act as a business partner for project managers, programme managers and project executives through the business case and project evaluation process, reporting into the Head of Financial Planning.

As the Financial Planning Manager your new role will include but not be limited to the following:

Take responsibility for the production of business cases for individual capital projects, including Outline Business Cases and, where appropriate Full Business Cases and Strategic Outline Cases.
Manage Project Manager and Programme Managers through the process of business cases.
Create economic models based on costs and benefits, with a focus on providing financial and commercial advice with a focus on value for money at all times.
Proactively manage Project and Programme Managers, Carry out an analysis of capital costs, resource costs and monetary and non-monetary benefits realisation.
Liaise with and provide governance advice to Project Executives.
Manage the process of answering queries from Department for Infrastructure Economists.To be considered for this role you will have:

Minimum Degree qualification in Economics or Qualified accountant with membership of CCAB or equivalent, with a minimum of two years post qualification experience.
Experience of preparation of significant Business Cases (>£1m).
Experience of using an integrated financial software package.
Demonstrable strong commercial acumenIt would be desirable if candidates also possessed Knowledge of Department of Transport Appraisal Guidance (TAG) and Green Book rules. Experience of Post Project Evaluations.
