Job Description
Radar Recruitment are exclusively partnered with a product-based business in Mid-Kent supporting them in their search for a Financial Controller, reporting into the senior leadership team, you will have overall responsibility for the company financials, day-to-day management of the finance team and ensuring the flow of financial information between departments is efficient and impactful.
This is a brand-new role, created to define the route and pace at which finance grows within the organization, the role will suit a hands-on operator who isn’t precious about carrying out more mundane tasks alongside the relevant strategy work, it’s a small, cohesive team and as such we need someone who can match this mentality.
Responsibilities:
* Oversight and ownership of financials including actuals, budgets, forecasts
* Provide financial leadership and direction to the operational finance team
* Long term financial modelling including working capital management and cash control
* Control over capital investment and the completion of investment appraisals to ensure information is available and guidance is provided to the site to prioritise and make decisions regarding capital spend
* Interactions with key customers to ensure all contractual obligations are met
* Lead the monthly reporting requirements to include P&L, Balance Sheet, working capital and key performance ratios including a month end report with commentary.
* Provide an in-depth analysis of monthly results against comparators including the development of product profitability information, inventory forecasts and processes to maximise the output from our working capital.
* Ensure appropriate financial controls are in place and system improvements are carried out in identified areas.
* Preparation of long-term financial modelling including balance sheets and cash flows.
* Lead the annual budget, monthly forecasts and monthly management accounting processes
* Responsible for the management of cashflow and all associated activities
* Ensure the monthly capital reporting process is robust and input into forecast capital decision making at the site
* Support with annual audit requirements
Profile:
* Formally Qualified (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) QBE options to be considered with significant relevant experience
* Exposure to an operational company is essential, experience in one of the following sectors to be considered: Consumer Goods, Manufacturing, Whole and Distribution, Logistics, Food, Retail
* Can demonstrate a genuine desire to operate as part of a close-knit team, is happy to lead from the front, by example and with the purpose of driving forward common and unified practices
* Must have operated at a similar level, minimum Financial Controller, Senior Finance Manager or Head of Finance
* Ability to train and develop both new and existing members of staff
* Encourages communication and relationships outside of finance, this role will have a significant impact on the value finance has within other departments
* Can maintain a resilient and positive attitude towards challenges, can show positivity and a proactive determination to offer solutions
