Finance Manager – Local Government

Bedford, Bedfordshire
Salary up to £45,000 + Benefits

CV Screen is recruiting for an experienced Finance Manager with solid Accoutnancy skills for a Local Government based near Bedford, Bedfordshire. This establoihsed organisation are looking for an accountant with great experience of preparing Local Government accounts.

This is a great opportunity for a Qualified/Part Qualified Finance Manager to develop their skills in the Government sector, in a brilliant and flexible working environment.

YOUR DUTIES WILL INCLUDE: 

–         Assisting the management and production of year-end accounts, ensuring compliance with statutory regulations, financial policies and deadlines.

–         Managing a small Finance team and take responsibility for budget monitoring.

–         Producing quarterly draft financial reports and year-end reports as well as contribute to the Financial Planning processes alongside the Chief Accountant

–         Maintaining the accuracy of financial general ledger regarding expenditure and income in line with statutory regulations.

REQUIRED SKILLS: 

–         Qualified or Part-Qualified Accountant

–         Knowledge of statutory reporting requirements for local authorities and statement of accounts.

–         In-depth post-qualification experience in providing a high level of financial management and accountancy advice

–         Experience preparing accounts and Local Government Capital Regulations

SALARY: 
Salary up to £45,000 + Pension and Benefits 

HOURS  
37 hours per week (Monday to Friday)

LOCATION 
Bedford / Bedfordshire (Flexible Working available)
