WHAT TO EXPECT

As a Senior Analyst, you will be reporting directly to a Finance Manager in Group Reporting and Accounting, this role requires an adaptable and technically competent individual to work in a technically specialist team. The Group Reporting and Accounting team provides the business with support on technical accounting matters and also prepares the monthly consolidation of the Group's financials, along with quarterly and annual Group financial statements for internal and external reporting. You will coordinate with functional areas of the business on projects involving new ventures and one-off transactions to identify and develop solutions for technical accounting issues. A key part of your role will be supporting the preparation of the more technically complex areas of the group financial statements, including cash flow statement, pensions, tax and financial instruments.

You will be utilising financial reporting tools, primarily Hyperion Financial Management and SAP, and automation to drive efficiencies in the preparation and review process whilst engaging with key stakeholders to plan the month, quarter and year-end consolidation and reporting process, ensuring delivery of the plan to tight deadlines and seeking potential opportunities for improvements. As a Senior Analyst you will be using commerciality and professional scepticism to understand and challenge financial reporting produced by the subsidiaries and UK business functions. Alongside this, proactively designing, developing and improving controls and processes and liaising with Business Assurance, Internal Audit and the external auditors to ensure the relevant requirements are met in an efficient and effective manner.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

The ideal candidate will be resilient, proactive and have an eye for detail and quality, looking to drive process improvement in a challenging environment. You will be required to act as a key contact for the parent company's financial reporting team and external auditors, ensuring deliverables are provided on time and queries are dealt with whilst drafting sections of quarterly financial reporting papers for presentation to the Audit Committee, Disclosure Committee and the Board. You wil handle preparation and presentation of monthly close performance metrics and key issues to the stakeholders and Senior Leadership Team members, continually seeking ways to improve the quality and relevance of metrics and drive resolution of issues.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Essential:
* A qualified professional capable of numerical analysis for accounting
* Understanding of Sarbanes Oxley controls environment
* Proficiency in use of MS office

Desirable:
* Experience in multinational companies
* Automotive experience will be a plus
