Job Description
One of the UK's fastest growing insurance firms is currently looking to recruit a highly organised Payroll Lead on a 12 month maternity cover contract.

Offering a salary of up to £27,500 plus excellent benefits including generous pension scheme, life assurance 2 x salary, health cash plan, plus flexible working, this is a fantastic opportunity to help shape a payroll team and make this role your own in a company that is continually growing.

Please note: This is a full-time role on a maternity cover contract. You would work from home or the Manchester or Stokes offices, or a combination of the two, as part of the company's flexible working policy.

The Role
As Payroll Lead you will play a key role as part of a busy and fast-paced Payroll team, helping oversee timely and effective monthy payroll processing. Responsibilities will include…
– Processing the current month's pay-run including the setting up of new Starters and calculating leavers
– Providing copy payslips, financial references and statement of earnings for both ex and current employees
– Manageing long-term-sickness sick pay in accordance T&Cs and along with the calculation of SSP
– Managing Maternity, Paternity and Adoption Leave, along with any Statutory calculations whilst answering any which are payroll related in order to resolve any payroll discrepancies
– Ensuring calculation of PAYE liabilities are in accordance with HMRC legislation whilst ensuring the calculation of Pension liabilities are in accordance with legislation and uploaded to the Pension provider in a timely manner

The Candidate
The Payroll Lead role will suit a technically proficient individual with payroll experience gained within a fast-paced business. You must have…
– Detailed knowledge of payroll processes including HMRC legislation
– An understanding of core processes and legislation related to auto enrolment, P11Ds, NI calculations etc
– Advanced MS Office skills, especially Excel – Pivot Tables, VLookup etc
– Excellent analytical skills, high attention to detail, experience working to tight deadlines
– Experience improving working practices and making recommendations
