Senior Finance Officer
Widnes
Full-time temporary contract
£16.85 per hour
Hybrid role

Your role as a Senior Finance Officer would be:
1. To undertake preparation, maintenance, development and reviews of the National & Local Schools Funding Scheme, including the School Funding Formula.
2. To provide effective financial management training for budget managers, headteachers, governors and school support staff.
3. To undertake accounting, budgeting, and year-end arrangements in respect of the Dedicated Schools Grant, including the provision of school budget calculations.
4. To prepare financial and statistical returns including; Section 251 budget and outturn, Consistent Financial Reporting, Standards Fund expenditure.
5. To attend the Schools Forum to explain key financial issues, formula changes, etc. and the implications for Halton's Schools.
6. To undertake in-year monitoring and maintenance of school and centrally retained Dedicated Schools Grant.
7. To act as lead officer in the preparation of responses to Government consultations relating to school and school related finance.
8. To review on a regular basis the Schools Finance Regulations.
