Job Description
WALTERS PEOPLE – PAYROLL ASSISTANT – £22,000 – £27,000 – FULL TIME

Salary: £22,000 – £27,000
Contract Type: Full Time
Location: Coventry
Qualifications: Payroll Qualification advantageous but not necessary.

At Walters people, we are partnered with a leading company in the Coventry region who are recruiting for a Payroll Assistant to join their team. This exciting new opportunity is for anyone with at least two years payroll experience in handling high volumes of payrolls and/or payroll bureaus operations.

Payroll Assistant responsibilities are:

* To handle the processing of all aspects of payroll from start to finish for a number of clients.
* Processing the payrolls in accordance with the deadlines, setting up new staff and inputting contractual changes.
* Assisting with ad-doc queries from clients, colleagues, and HMRC
* Regular communication with clients (internal and external) in a professional and considered manner.

Skills needed as Payroll Assistant:

* Has good knowledge of UK PAYE legislations and a good understanding of statutory deductions.
* Must be able to demonstrate pension / auto-enrolment understanding and knowledge
* Is self-motivated, efficient, and hard working
* Have a good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
* Have good communication skills
* Able to take responsibility
* Able to handle several different types of pay frequencies
