PQ Management Accountant // Fully remote with option of access to a Manchester office // £30-35k plus study support, bonus, fantastic benefits – exciting business

We have a really fantastic new opportunity for an ambitous individual who wants to be part of an innovative and rapidly growing Fintech/consultancy business. The role will allow for rapid career progression in line with completion of studies.

Reporting into the CFO, this person will initailly have ownership of the day to day accounting processes and will also work closely with colleagues and clients to carry out financial modelling and forecasting plus R&D related taxation.

The plan is for this role to move fully into being FP&A focussed within around a year/ once qualified, at which point the team will expand and the transactional, day to day accounting will be passed over.

This person will join the business at a cruciial time in the journey and will be a key part of its growth as turnover continues to increase by up to 40% year on year..

Duties to include:

Maintaining the books
Bank account reconciliation
Sales and Purchase Ledger reconciliation
Balance Sheet reconciliations
Processing invoices and receipts
Credit control, including preparing and sending monthly statements, chasing aged debtors, and recording communications accurately
Taking ownership of the monthly payroll process for employees
Taking ownership of all accounting emails and routing to the relevant colleague
Ad hoc Data analysis using Excel and google Sheets with vlookup / sumif / sumifs / count etc.
Corporation Tax Filing for R&D tax credits
Financial modelling and forecasting for clients
Offer feedback on our current processes and suggest process improvements through automation
Assist in the implementation of new accounting standards
Cross-functional support on ad hoc projects
Experience Required:

Part-qualified accountant (ACCA / CIMA / ACA / ATT, ideally with 2-3 years bookkeeping or management accounting experience)
Excellent MS Excel and/or google sheets skills
Experience in using Xero
Familiarity with work management tools like is a plus
Basic knowledge of R&D tax credits and financial modelling is a plus
Meticulous attention to detail,able to spot errors.
Willingness to learn and jump in to help for different projects
Strong organisational and stress management skills
This is a truly flexible role. You can choose to be fully remote, or access the small Manchester office.
