Salary:            £40,000 – £45,000 per annum

We have an exciting opportunity for a Management Accountant to join a busy Accounts Department working for a social housing contractor based at their offices in Wisbech

The objective of the Management Accountant role is to analyse key financial information in order to optimise financial planning and improve profitability and growth. You will be responsible for assisting with financial decision-making and developing and implementing strategies to help reduce the businesses' operational and production costs to ensure spending is in line with budgets.

Duties & Responsibilities of Management Accountant 

Involved in all aspects of management accounting which involves preparing financial statements such as profit and loss accounts, financial record keeping, balance sheet reconciliations, daily and monthly bank reconciliations and payments, accruals and prepayments, and accurate management reporting.
Preparation opf statutory and management accounts, and financial reports.
Analysing financial performance and making long-term forecasts.
Carrying out analysis of overheads on a monthly basis.
Preparation of VAT returns.
Liaising with auditors
Preparing and processing payroll.
Producing month-end and year-end journals.
Dealing with purchase ledger payments and credit card reconciliations.
Overseeing accounting procedures and supervising staff within the team, including the Accounts Clerk, and Sales & Purchase Ledger Clerk
Desirable Experience of a Management Accountant

Extensive knowledge of financial analysis and forecasting and experience of working in a similar environment
Knowledge of accounting standards and financial regulations
Knowledge and experience in financial risk management
Able to translate financial accounting and business management expertise into sustained business growth
Ability to gather and interpret information to evaluate the efficiency of financial procedures
Ensuring financial management policies and procedures adhere to regulatory standards
Qualifications & Skills of a Management Accountant

A minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Management Accountant
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) professional qualification or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) qualification preferred
Strong mathematical and analytical aptitude
Exceptional attention to detail
Good communications and presentation skills
Honesty and discretion
Ability to explain complex financial information in a clear, concise manner
