Job Description
We are currently looking for an Internal Audit Manager to join the finance team at our Head Office in Lutterworth.
Reporting to the Director of Risk & Finance, the Internal Audit Manager will manage a central function responsible for providing oversight and delivery of risk based internal audits, while also providing transparent governance across corporate projects and activities.
The successful candidate will support the evaluation of the business’ evolving risk profile and embed an effective risk management strategy through commercial, operational, and financial internal audit activity.

Responsibilities include:
• Manage and lead complete audit assignments, including planning/risk mapping, audit testing, and reporting in accordance with Internal Audit methodology
• Identify key business and process risks, and as a result contribute to the development of the annual audit plan owned by the Head of Risk and Reporting
• Evaluate the design of controls in place and identify gaps/weaknesses; working with management to drive improvement
• Fully own the depot audit programme, ensuring appropriate coverage is obtained across the depot network and over the agreed test plans
• Perform audits and other assignments included in the agreed audit coverage plan, in compliance with the professional standards
• Prepare and present quality reports that reflect the results of audit work and clearly set out the key findings and actions/recommendations
• Manage the audit actions follow up process, tracking actions through to conclusion, and escalating where required
• Ensure internal policies/procedures are appropriately maintained in accordance with defined review periods
• Supervise, develop and mentor the Internal Auditor to facilitate their continued professional development
• Ensure project risks and issues are clearly identified and that project teams have appropriate mitigation measures in place
The ideal candidate will have/be:
• Experienced internal and/or external auditor, with solid understanding of financial and operational processes, preferably with Project or Change Management experience
• Capable of demonstrating the required personal credibility to gain confidence and buy in at all levels of the business, including the executive leadership team
• Understands key business drivers (and how these may enable/challenge the success of projects)
• A high standard of communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to clearly present information to senior management teams
• Ability to mentor and develop a team for success in role while supporting their continued development
• A proven ability to grasp and apply project management quality control tools and techniques
• Strong Microsoft Office skills
