Director of Finance & Operations Job in Cirencester, Gloucestershire

Job Description
Looking for something unique?

The Corinium Education Trust is a multi-academy trust with a unique set up.

With the Trust’s ethos of achieving excellence for all running through the veins of its 4 schools, each school maintains a unique identity and community feel whilst benefiting from the wider support of the Trust.

This ethos will not be changing. The Trust, however, has bigger plans. This is where you come in.

With 4 Schools nestled in close proximity in the heart of The South Cotswolds in Gloucestershire, and the fifth, currently in the design phase, planned for the newest local development, you’ll be joining the Trust to help continue their growth plan.

The Trust’s headquarters are based at Cirencester Deer Park School. This enables the Trust to provide direct support for its other schools nearby.

This will be staying the same, so you won’t have travel around the country and luckily for you, you will have the famous Gloucestershire and Cotswold stone views just around the corner. However, you’re not in the ‘middle of nowhere’ with fantastic travel links to Bristol, Cheltenham and Swindon.

Working with the Trust Lead (CEO), you’ll support the Trust on all areas of finance and operations to help move Trust and each school forward. Due to the complexities of this sector, you’ll have worked in the education sector, ideally state. Here you’ll be able to help the Trust operate with tight budgets, navigating polices to ensure inspections, audits and financials are in order.

With a strong track record in finance and accounts, Chartership would be ideal. You will also take the strategic lead on HR, IT, and Property and help to develop each team.

Every day will be different. You’ll inherit a motivated team who are all on the same page.

The Trust Lead (CEO) is passionate about education and was previously a Headteacher within the Trust, so naturally, you’ll be able to tap into this experience.

On top of working with a team to be proud of, the benefits package is not one to be missed.

You’ll be on the LGPS pension scheme, paying up to circa 25%. This role will pay now, but also in the future.

The holiday starts at 6.4 weeks, rising to 7.4 weeks after 5 years’ service and you’ll also have the reassurance of generous sick pay. There is also the offer of adjusted working hours to accommodate your day-to-day life and continued professional development support.

The Corinium Education Trust has diversity and inclusion at its core, reflected in the team. The offices have wheelchair access and the Trust will of course make all reasonable adjustments to assist in the interview.
