Assistant Management Accountant

What you'll do:

You will provide support to the Transport – Rail Metro Maintenance business, working closely with the Senior Management Accountant

Reporting on utilisation and understanding its impact on under and over recovery. Reviews to be conducted monthly with department heads, reviewing actuals vs budget and forecast
Assist with the month-end process in calculating orders, sales and margin and reconciling Oracle to P&L files
Establishing recharges for Logistics, Service Centre, Repairs and charging these on a monthly basis and adjusting appropriately when necessary.
Production of overhead cost centre reports and commenting on the variances and providing full analysis (Under & Over Recoveries)
Submitting quarterly overheads forecasts into Hyperion and reconciling back to each cost centre.
Review of ultisation reports and Business Systems, R&D, P&L.
Forecasting all costs (fixed/variable) and liasing with the cost centre managers
Involvement on the annual rates build-up and annual overhead budget setting process
Supporting Transport team with payroll reconciliation and balance sheet reconciliation when required
Supporting the Fleet Manager in producing a monthly dashboard where we can distinguish over charge and discover costs saves in the businessWho you are:

The candidate needs to be a motivated individual who is a very accurate completer finisher who thrives in a busy team environment. This is a great opportunity for someone wanting to expand their accounting skills in a management accounting field, who will play a key role to support the Management Accountant for the Rail Metro Maintenance Business within the Transport business.

Key requirements:

Excellent inter-personal skills
Ability to prioritise and be flexible in working as a team
Prepared to challenge stakeholders during reviews
Experience working in an accounting role, preferably in a contracting environment.
Part qualified AAT/CIMA/ACCA
