Job Description
A large Accountancy Practice based in St Albans are looking for a new accounts assistant/ assistant accountant to join a very successful team to deal with bookkeeping and management accounting. The company are looking for a candidate that has experience of looking after client accounts and working within a deadline driven environment. They are will also support the studies of either AAT or ACCA and would like to see someone complete the courses and develop across the teams and business.

Duties:

* Bookkeeping and accounts preparation

* Posting sales/purchase invoices and reconciling sales and purchase ledgers

* Posting receipts and payments and reconciling bank accounts

* Preparing and posting month end journals including; accruals, prepayments, deferred income and expenditure and depreciation

* Input stock movements and reconciling with trial balance figures

* Posting month end salary information

* Close down month end reports and year end balances

* Preparation and submission of client’s monthly/quarterly VAT returns

* Deal with queries which may arise from clients

* Contact for own portfolio of clients

* Opportunity to support trainees

Person Spec:

* AAT qualified or studier

* 2/3 years experience of dealing with client accounts preparation

* Experience of preparing VAT returns

* Working with Xero, Quickbooks and other practice software
