Job Description
Senior Indirect Tax Analyst
Salary – up to £38K dependant on experience plus Bonus
Location – Birmingham (part office/ part home based)
T2M Resourcing are recruiting a Senior Indirect Tax Analyst to join a leading FMCG business in the midlands area.
Reporting to an Indirect Manager and supporting a small team of Indirect Tax Analysts, you will be responsible for the robust accounting and reporting of financial information relating to Indirect tax.
Main responsibilities will include.
* Completion and submission of VAT returns relating to Indirect tax, EC sales lists and Intrastat returns
* Supports in the delivery of robust financial and management information with regards to Indirect Tax
* Responsible for producing quality balance sheet reconciliations with adequate supporting documentation
* Business Partnering to ensure reporting is timely and accurate
* Identify opportunities for process improvement to improve efficiency and control
* Supporting of external Indirect Tax audits and reviews
* Train, support and develop a small team of Indirect Tax Analysts
Knowledge, Skills & Experience Required:
* Ideally studying towards or possessing a relevant qualification: ATT, AAT, ACA, ACCA or CIMA.
* Ideally with 1-2 years’ experience in a VAT compliance role, including the preparation and submission of various Indirect Tax returns
* A good understanding of basic VAT rules
* Solid understanding of financial and accounting principles
* Strong analytical and interpretative skills
* Ability to identify issues, be proactive and subsequently problem solve through to resolution
* Ability to manage multiple tasks and deliver quality output in a fast paced, rapidly changing environment
* Excellent communication skills – both verbal and written. Able to clearly articulate finance concepts to non-finance colleagues
* Advanced Excel skills
* Systems: SAP, MS Office – preferable
