Job Description
CMA are delighted to be partnering with a well-established business based in Central Southampton in the recruitment of a new payroll administrator to join their busy payroll department.

The successful candidate will contribute to the effective running of Payrolls including reconciliations and paying over third party payments, liaison with the Regions, personnel  colleagues, managers and staff within the Regions and associated external contacts.

What will the role involve?

To provide a high level payroll service and to ensure that the payroll processes and risk controls work effectively;
To work within the Payroll team to provide effective delivery of the service, organising and scheduling work appropriately to meet deadlines;
To help and support your colleagues;
To ensure professional relationships are developed with your colleagues within the Payroll team and also with the Regional teams;
To manage reconciliations and pay over of third party payments;
To check information submitted to the payroll system to ensure all employees are paid promptly and correctly, and the accuracy of the database is maintained;
Ensure the prompt and accurate dispatch of P45 information to employees;
To ensure BACS is processed correctly and submitted on each pay run;
To submit lunar RTI files on a rota basis to HMRC. Ensure data is valid, correct and transmission successful;
To arrange the dispatch of payslips and other documentation as necessary;
To ensure that Pension Auto Enrolment communications to employees are dispatched efficiently and that employees receive the correct letter for their assessment;
To ensure employees’ AE pension status and contributions are calculated in accordance with the scheme rules and prevailing legislation.
Suitable Candidate:

Good working knowledge of Excel, Word and Outlook;
Ideally a sound understanding of PAYE and NI including Scottish PAYE;
Sound understanding of NMW and Living Wage regulations and the impact of salary sacrifice;
Sound understanding of Statutory payments. E.g. SMP, SSP etc;
Awareness of current pension legislation relating to Auto Enrolment;
Awareness of Deduction Orders and Court Orders etc;
Awareness of Benefits in Kind.
