What we are looking for.
We are looking for a Senior finance lead with a recognised accounting qualification who will report to the Chief Executive.
They will become a trusted top table team member providing the Board with timely and accurate financial information and advising the board on strategy, cash management, controlling costs and income. Manage the accounts department effectively and efficiently. Have a complete understanding of project management accounting and the impact on cash flow and profitability of projects. Being a project-based business we can currently be building up to a thousand projects at any one time. These range from several days small scale to larger projects taking several months. Experience in dealing with this type of work is essential. Also experience of working for a rapidly growing business and dealing with outside professionals including funders, auditors, and lawyers.

Responsibilities & Key Duties:
* Experience with rapid growth business.
* Experience with a Turnover business of over £20 million plus.
* Experience with managing a complex cashflow and predicting short-, mid- and long-term cash positions. Improving systems to help this process.
* Experience in system change and the ability to streamline and make improvements.
* Experience with a project based business.
* Yearly Budget and Cashflow preparation with regular updated rolling positions.
* Preparation and review of monthly management accounts – month end close procedure, preparation of reporting data, investigation of variances.
* Monthly Balance sheet reconciliations. Producing an Asset and Liability pack to the board.
* Attending Board and Director meetings.
* Manage the accounting team of 5 staff.
* Audit – Manage the yearly audit and provide assistance to the external auditors with any queries.
* Manage the Project Management Accountant and ensure the integrity of monthly projects numbers.
* Manage relationship with Bankers, other lenders and lawyers.
* Provide regular Ad hoc financial analysis to support business decisions.
* Stock control experience
* Post and process monthly nominal ledger journal entries to ensure all business transactions are recorded.
* Maintain Fixed asset register
* Authorise weekly payment run.
* Quarterly VAT Returns lodgement.
* Teamwork – Providing guidance to, and upskilling, the finance assistants with their day-to-day responsibilities.
About You:
* At least 5 years’ experience in a similar role
* ACCA/CIMA qualified.
* Have advanced Excel skills and strong IT skills in general.
* Strong attention to detail. Excellent organizational skills. Strong interpersonal skills and strong ability to work within a team
* Self-motivated and ability to work with limited supervision
