Job Description
Elevation Recruitment Group are pleased to be working with a successful Manufacturing business in Sheffield as they look to recruit a Group Accountant to assist the Head of Finance in managing the team, driving continuous improvement across the department and produce month end accounts along with related analysis and commentary.

The company is part of an international PLC group so not only does this role offer progression to Finance Manager in the short-medium term of employment (for the right individual) but the group can offer fantastic career prospects on the whole.

Reporting into the Head of Finance, duties will include:

*Developing and mentor a strong, stable and knowledgeable finance team that will deliver best in class finance
*Supporting, challenging and driving the business through financial business intelligence.
*Establishing targets, manage and mentor accounting and finance colleagues, including setting aligned objectives
*Working in an organised manner in order to meet Group requirements and deadlines
*Developing budgets that meet the requirements of company departments
*Responsibility to oversee local funding and cash management
*Demonstrating expertise in implementing and managing controls which ensure compliance with local and international VAT regulations
*Demonstrating the ability to prepare Group accounts and present them to non-financial managers
*Working with internal and external stakeholders to drive stewardship of financial compliance with all government and regulatory bodies
*Supervising all audit, third party communication and related internal control processes
*Recognising patterns in company spending, revenue, and recommend solutions to any problem areas
*Developing process and rigorous financial control procedures aligning with Group policies
*Undertaking ad-hoc business projects as and when required

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate the following skills and experience:

*CIMA/ ACA or ACCA Qualified
*Good technical accounting skills (gained either from practice or industry especially in relation to respect of accounting standards, VAT and taxation)
*Strong analytical skills
*Attention to detail with pragmatic approach
*Ability to see the wider financial impact
*Microsoft Excel expertise
*Strong organisational skills
*Able to work as part of a team as well as individually
*Ability to take ownership and lead a team
*Excellent time management and multi-tasking to work to tight deadlines and balance workload
*Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills
*Excellent team leadership and mentoring skills
*Ability to influence others at all levels within the organisation
*Eager to assist in the continuous improvement of the organisation
*Ability to promote, embrace and manage change
*Self-starter with a positive attitude
*Worked within manufacturing organisation (Desirable)
*SAP ERP systems experience (Desirable)
*Some Commercial & operational experience (Desirable)

The role is generally office based 5 days a week although flexibility can offered with regards to this. Other benefits include: Up to 9% annual bonus and 25 days holiday + stats (Increasing by 1 day each year of service up to 5 extra days).
