Job Description
Financial Manager | Oldbury | Full Time |Office Based| £35,000-£45,000 depending on experience
Our client has been a supplier to the golf trade since 1980 and is the leading global distributor of branded & licensed products to the trade.
As a Financial Manager, you will manage a set of accounting activities to ensure compliance with accounting principles, corporate policies and external audits. This person will manage the accounts payable function, monthly closing of accounts and preparation of reports in support of the financial statements.
You will work closely with the accounts department, reporting to the Directors and external accountants regarding Company analysis and reconciliation of accounts and in the development and implementation of accounting policies, procedures and controls.
To succeed in this role, you will possess leadership skills, solid operational and technical accounting background and work proactively to drive results. You will be a self-starter, flexible and have a high level of integrity.
Please note that you must both live and have the right to work in the UK and be within commutable distance to Oldbury.

Are you the right person for the job?
Ideally you will have:
* Proven track record in finance and a minimum of 3 yrs. experience in a similar role
* Adept in finance systems and software. Ideally you will have previous experience in SAGE or OrderWise accountancy platforms.
* Accuracy and attention to detail
* Excellent organization and ability to multitask
* Excellent verbal and written communication
* Proficient in Excel to a high standard
* Interpersonal Skills
* Leadership
Additional desirable skills:
* Degree in a related discipline such as mathematics, statistics, finance or economics.
* Membership of a professional body and/or professional qualifications (i.e. IFA or ACCA) preferred
* Understanding of SQL preferred
What will your role as a Financial Manager look like?
* Day-to-day running of finance department working alongside accounts assistant
* Manage the monthly financial close process, including ensuring all costs incurred are properly recorded, reviewing journal entries, account balance reconciliations and report preparation
* Participate in the ongoing development/establishment of accounting policies and procedures and operational strategies including the review and implementation of process and system changes
* Continued focus on improving system efficiencies and business practices
* Participate in strategic financial projects including upgrades and implementation of software
* Ensure compliance with internal control policies
* Collaborate with external auditors to ensure successful audit results and compliance
* Interacts at all levels and with budget owners or other stakeholders to produce a timely, efficient and accurate month-end close and all internal management and financial reporting through the annual report
* Responsible for accounts and accuracy in the general ledger and financial statements and have authority over classification and booking of all transactions
* Prepare detailed journal entries and account analyses
* Assist with compilation of information for preparation of tax returns
* Work with Audit, Tax and Accountants to ensure overall coordination of all financial accounting activities through the report
* Prepare a summary of financial statements for Board Meetings
* Additional responsibilities outside of the finance department will include day-to-day office management and overseeing onsite health and safety
