Job Description
A commercially astute dynamic qualified accountant is needed to join an entrepreneurial growing multi-site SME business as the Financial Controller.

The Financial Controller will be reporting to and supporting the Group Finance Director; you will be responsible for:

* Taking the lead on the technical financial accounting and accountability, ensuring timely reporting of the company’s finances including those for multiple subsidiaries.

* Monthly balance sheet reconciliations

* Preparing annual statutory accounts for multiple subsidiaries

* Working closely with the Group FD to optimise financial performance and strategy to best support the business.

* Finance Business Partnering across all sites improving financial understanding and insight to senior management.

* Providing direction for the continual improvement of financial management, processes and controls.

* Implementing and continuous improvements of finance system controls in the accounting software.

* Leading the year end accounting activity and processes as well as providing input into internal and external audits.

* Working closely with the Group FD on all elements of banking and investment.

* Maintaining accurate cashflow forecasts.

* Contributing to the strategic direction of the business.

* Supporting multiple projects from the planning through to their eventual completion.

Financial Controller – The Rewards:

Salary: Approx. £60,000 – £70,000pa negotiable depending on experience plus comprehensive benefits package including free parking, private healthcare, life assurance, discretionary bonus, car allowance

Hours: Mon – Fri, 9am – 5:30pm

Location: Office based, Exeter area

Financial Controller – The Person:

You will be an ambitious ACA or ACCA qualified accountant, or similar, with proven technical knowledge and experience seeking a varied role with strategic input and the opportunity to add value. Experience gained in the construction, house building or similar sector is beneficial although not essential.

You will be a self-starter with a high energy approach and a desire to work in a fast-paced, change environment where you will be hands on.

With a track record in business partnering and staff management, you’ll be a first-rate communicator able to inspire, persuade and influence with the ability to positively manage and empower others to achieve.

A natural problem-solver with excellent analytical skills, able to analyse, understand and explain complex information to non-finance staff at all levels.

You will be a team player and enjoy working in a collaborative manner with colleagues at all levels in the business.
