Job Description
Walters People: Commercial Finance Business Partner – Birmingham – 6 – 12-month interim contract – £130 – £220 per day – Highly remote
I'm currently working alongside a leading company in Birmingham in their recruitment of a Commercial Finance Business Partner. You will support all aspects of financial analysis, modelling, and economic appraisal for projects, and particularly the financial modelling requirements of business case work.
Key responsibilities of the Commercial Finance Business Partner:
* Support the preparation of business cases for projects through the provision of financial expertise
* Provide support with the economic appraisal of investments using appropriate financial appraisal techniques
* Support the development of business cases through the application of financial analysis
* Advise on the costing implications of organisational and/or service changes that we may recommend to clients
* Provide advice and support on project finance and with developments in accounting standards
* Support the engagement with clients to scope projects, taking ownership for developing aspects of the project plan
* Pro-actively engage with your colleagues to support the development of project work
* Train other team members in skills that you have mastered, and
* Closely monitor the billable utilisation and expense levels of your project resources, alerting the Managing Consultant of expected deviations from budget and proposing suitable mitigating actions
About you as the Commercial Finance Business Partner:
* Few years of financial consultancy or operational finance experience
* Experience of preparing financial management reports, financial planning and analysis, cash
flow forecasting and forecast models
* Some national travel will be required
* Experience of working with clients at various levels of management
* Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team, and equally effective at working alone
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Highly numerate/keen to gain skills and knowledge of project finance/accounting.
* Strong computer skills with advanced proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office applications
