Job Description

Through a sustained period of growth, we now have a vacancy for a passionate, driven, and proactive Assistant Management Accountant to join our Finance department. Your role will support the Management Accountant in providing a high quality, comprehensive financial accounting, reporting, planning and control service to the Financial Director, Managing Director and senior management team.
To work closely with the rest of WBPS finance team to ensure that performance reporting, planning and business controls are operating effectively and to support month-end financial control activities and core processes.
Your duties will include but are not exclusive to:
* Co-ordinate all month-end activities related to balance sheet control, supported by the Management Accountant e.g. running key reports, review and reconciliation of GL balances, ensuring supporting documents and exhibits are in place
* Assist in the management of bank account and working capital facilities.
* Support the Management Accountant in resolving specific balance sheet issues e.g. incomplete entries, investigation and review of variances, understanding key movements and highlighting risks
* Preparation of month-end schedules for accruals and prepayments under guidance of the Management Accountant.
* Run reports from the finance system as directed by the Management Accountant.
* Prepare bank reconciliation under supervision of the Management Accountant, support completeness of all banking entries in the GL.
* Undertake the monthly payroll preparation process and review with the Management Accountant and Finance Director.
* Manage the posting and VAT treatments relating to expenses and corporate credit cards.
* Assist in the control and preparation of tax related activities such as VAT, CIS, corporation tax etc.
* Undertake year-end support activities including preparing financial schedules and audit work
* Delivery of ad-hoc finance related project work.
The person:
* Part-qualified accountant with 2 years’ experience.
* Creator of strong working relationships at all levels, across functional boundaries. Able to report, communicate and influence effectively across the business and at all levels with a clear focus upon driving improvements to profit and cash.
* Strong commercial and control focused mind set with high levels of personal resilience.
* Able to coach non-financial colleagues to ensure that the financial consequences of all decisions are fully understood.
* Experience of working with ERP systems.
* Strong skill set in working with Microsoft Office tools.
* Highly proactive approach and strong drive for continuous improvement.
