Job Description
Have you ever wanted to work within the civil service? Are you confident in working with data and have a good background in finance? We are looking for a candidate to join our client, Food Standard Agency!

Hours: Monday – Friday (37 hours per week)
Location: York (remote working)
Temporary contract until December 2023
Pay: £15.77phTraining and support will be provided.

As a Financial Assurance Support:

You will ensure the FSA's policies and guidance are in keeping with external rules, e.g. PAYE and VAT, ensuring compliance. You will also be responsible for maintaining up to date guidance and decision tools for the business.
You will lead on the monthly Assurance process, ensuring emerging risks are address and resolved promptly.
You will ensure management information reporting requirements are met through continuous review and development of current systems and processes, ensuring Accounting are leading on relevant technological developments.
Work with stakeholders across the business to co-ordinate actions and responses so as to provide assurance to auditors
Provide input and quality assurance in relation to business processes, identifying where IT systems may provide efficiency and / or improvements.
You will work a lot with financial data, taking information from the system (oracle) and inputting these into spreadsheets into simple formatsSkills and experience required:

Experience of collation and presentation of financial information to auditors
Experience of Oracle accounting system or similar
Knowledge of Government Accounting including classification of expenditure, the principles of Managing Public Money and Consolidated Budgeting Guidance
Strong experience working with finance data
Strong understanding of finance processes
Able to work independently as well as within a team
Able to identify a range of relevant and credible information sources and recognise the need to collect new data when necessary from internal and external sources
Able to produce high quality financial reports and analyse large volumes of dataIf this sounds like the role for you, Apply now
