Job Description
NXTGEN are delighted to be working with rapidly expanding business based in Thetford who are looking to bring in an Assistant Accountant to add to their ever-growing finance team. You will work closely with the Financial Controller and will take a lead on presenting and reporting on the general ledgers, to the FC. As an Assistant Accountant you will play an integral role in the day to day running of the finance function. You will work closely with both Purchase and Sales Ledger department and offer support when needed. You will be closing the ledgers, Preparing VAT Returns, Cashflow forecasting and will provide analysis on both side of the ledger in your role as Assistant Accountant.
Key responsibilities will include:
Cash Forecasting
Preparing VAT returns
General ledger entries
Payroll submissions to suppliers
Reporting of debt collection
Collection of cash from customer invoices
Assisting with management of online banking systems
Various ad-hoc finance tasks that may be asked of you
The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic about their career and Ideally studying towards their AAT qualification, however qualification is not essential. Excellent communication skills will be necessary as our client pride themselves on this. You will be using various finance related systems day to day, so having working knowledge of finance systems is a must. You will be working in a fast-paced environment meaning this role will require someone who is able to work well under pressure in a timely manner
