Job Description
Our client is a leading provider of financial solutions who for hundreds of years have serviced customers across a range of insurance, retirement and wealth management products, they pride themselves in building lifetime relationships with their customers. They have a strong market hold and are passionate to deliver 'sustainable cash generation' for them to reinvest and build stronger communities and embed sustainability throughout their business.

In their commitment to advancing decarbonisation efforts this role will have a direct impact on the company's transition to net zero for investment portfolios and investment strategies, additionally helping to shape the overall direction of the sustainability team's technical work.

The Role

You will work in partnership with internal teams to develop robust carbon performance frameworks and methodologies to assess carbon performance of investments whilst providing expertise in climate science. As Senior Climate Manager you will be involved with analysis of climate data to contribute to reports and the net zero roadmap.

As this is a hands-on role, understanding of climate change science is essential along with experience of working with complex technical concepts and data. Other requirements include:

Requirements

Extensive experience in delivering climate focused technical leadership.
Hands-on experience developing sector and regional carbon pathways and carbon reporting methodologies to capture transition and physical risks.
Experience using climate data, with a good knowledge of ESG / Climate datasets and providers.
Some knowledge in how ESG / Climate considerations can impact portfolio construction and investment performance would be beneficial.
Previous knowledge / experience in adaptation of resilience or nature-based solutions is advantageous.
