An established and modern accountancy firm in Derby are seeking to hire a technically competent Senior Accountant OR Manager, someone who is technically adept, great with clients and great with the internal team. There is opportunity to grow with the practice in this role. The salary is open within reason, dependent on the candidate, with some flexibility on working times and hybrid too.

The job really can be designed around the right person, so it doesn't need to be heavily involved with people management and job / client management. It can be, if the recruit wants that, or the firm can separate the role out and make it focused on producing work and dealing with clients. This firm have a long-held and good quality client base, decent offices, friendly people and a good opportunity on offer.

In this role, you can oversee the day-to-day compliance aspects of the business on a client base including limited companies, sole traders and partnerships. The general day to day role comprises of compliance-based submissions, year-end accounts, CT returns, VAT returns, personal tax returns and CGT reporting for property taxes.

You could also get involved with ad hoc engagements, including Management Accounts, Tax advice, Capital Gains Tax Planning, Business Valuations, Share Reorganisations and R&D tax credits
