Senior Accountant, Brearley & Co, Mexborough

The Role

Brearley & Co are a leading independent firm of accountants who have been established for over 30 years with offices in Swinton, Mexborough, Dinnington and Barnsley. Due to a recent acquisition and continued growth within the business, the firm are looking to recruit an experienced Accountant to join the firms Mexborough office.

The firm work with a variety of clients which consists of mainly small growing businesses to medium sized OMB's, providing accounting support which includes management accounting, statutory accounting, business advisory services (cashflow forecasting, budgeting, strategic advice), tax and VAT advice, as a result the role will offer an excellent opportunity to develop experience within a full accounting environment.

Duties and Responsibilities

The successful individual will support one of the Managers and will assist in the following :

* Responsible for own allocation of limited company clients

* Preparing accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies

* Preparation of monthly and quarterly management accounts

* Client Bookkeeping which will include working at client premises

* Preparing corporate and personal tax returns

* Preparation of VAT returns

Skills and Qualities

To be considered for this position you will have a minimum of 5 years of experience working within a firm of accountants. You will have developed experience of preparing statutory accounts and tax computation with little supervision.

Applications of individuals who have decided not to take the formal qualification route but have developed suitable experience within a firm of accountants would also be encouraged.

A good working knowledge of Sage and Quickbooks accounting software will also be a distinct advantage.
