Job Description
A well established company in the London insurance market seeks a Reinsurance Technician to provide support to the team to enable it to perform various outwards reinsurance technical functions which includes the identification calculation, advising and processing of outwards reinsurance recoveries on behalf of company owned and third-party clients, payment/collection of reinsurance amounts, responses to queries raised and management reporting.

Responsibilities will include:

Responding to outwards reinsurance technical reinsurer queries and liaising with brokers and/or reinsurers directly
Assisting in the maintenance of central files used to record outwards reinsurance losses advised to the market to ensure billings are issued on a timely basis and in line with contractual requirements
Accepting LORS messages for Syndicate portfolios and allocate to relevant reinsurance accruals within underwriting system
Assisting outwards reinsurance Credit Control/Commutation teams with collections and commutations
Assistance in supporting Reinsurance and M&A teams in due diligence activities for potential acquisitions
Supporting the take-on and integration of newly acquired books of business in terms of outwards reinsurance
Supporting arbitrations/legal activity
Assist in reinsurance reporting required for internal management purposes, Board reporting and external submissions to Lloyd's and regulators
Assisting the Reinsurance Manager on specific business initiatives, gathering data and involving other business areas as required, for example the annual Group bad debt review exercise
