Job Description
My client is a firm of Chartered Accountants founded in 1979 and incorporated in February 2020.

Over the 40 years, the firm has established a wide range of long-standing clients, including Resident NonDom’s, SME’s and Groups in the Financial Services Sector. They pride themselves in offering a niche and bespoke service to meet the needs of their clients.

They are looking to recruit an ambitious qualified accountant with a minimum of 2.5 years’ experience in practice. The accountant will be required to carry out a variety of disciplines for a diverse portfolio of clients, ultimately reporting to the Directors.

Assistance will be given by the Directors to help increase technical knowledge.

Main Job Functions & Responsibilities

* Preparation of FRS 102 1A and FRS 105 Financial Statements

* Preparation of Corporation Tax Computations and Returns

* Preparation of Management Accounts

* Bookkeeping including preparation and submission of VAT Returns.

* Preparation of Self Assessment Tax Returns

* Advising clients on various tax & VAT matters

* Statutory Compliance work, including maintenance of register of directors/members.

* Other duties as required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

* Sound technical accounting knowledge, including preparation of financial statements and knowledge of disclosure requirements

* Excellent understanding of the basic principles of bookkeeping and performing reconciliations

* Strong understanding of income tax, corporation tax and VAT

* Good knowledge of the various software packages, including but not limited to, SAGE 50, SAPA,

* SAGE CT, QuickBooks, Xero, TaxCalc etc

* Proactive, takes initiative with ability to solve problems efficiently by “thinking outside the box”

* Accurate with good attention to detail demonstrating pride in their work

* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal are essential

* Proven ability to work with discretion and confidential information

* Ability to manage work independently as well as part of a team to ensure deadlines are met

* Efficient computer skills, especially in exce
