Job Description
Hales Group are a multi-faceted, privately owned organisation, and the finance team manages and reports on several businesses within the group.
The Management Accountant will be reporting into the Financial Controller with the view of being part of the company's management team over time. Therefore, this role would suit someone who is looking to work for a great business with real career prospects. The group is in an ongoing growth phase, so it is an exciting time to join the team.
The successful Management Accountant will have at least some previous exposure to a management accounts function and will be responsible for month-end accounting, analysing financial information and implementing effective strategies to enhance business performance under the direction and support of the FC.
Responsibilities
• Provide accurate and sound management reporting.
• Produce month end and year end journals
• Prepare management accounts packs
• Ensure ongoing compliance with all financial regulations
• Review company assets and liabilities
• Prepare monthly reconciliations for all accounts
• Calculation, presentation, and payment of VAT
• Full or Part Qualified ACA / ACCA / CIMA
• A good understanding of management information systems
• Strong Excel skills (V Lookups, Pivot Tables etc)
• Commercially aware
• Ability to communicate with people at all levels, both financial and non-financial
• Highly competent, with solid commercial acumen.
• Ability to maintain a high level of attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Remuneration & Benefits
• Salary £30,000 – £35,000 per annum

This is a full time, permanent Management Accountant role, working Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week on site in Fengate, PE1. We believe this role would suit a recently experienced and/or newly part or fully qualified management accountant who is keen to join an experienced and diverse team to enhance their career and to take a pivotal role as part of the wider team.
