Job Description
Head of Finance – Revenues and Reporting
Location – Kidderminster
Full time – 37.5hrs per week
Permanent
£72,979 (including car allowance)
The role
Our client is currently seeking a Head of Finance to effectively lead the financial, taxation and account reporting services to the Company, ensuring that books and records are kept in good order and that financial performance reporting is produced efficiently and effectively.
Within this role your main responsibilities will include:

Ensuring that Financial Statements (monthly management accounts and annual statutory accounts) are completed in accordance with relevant statues and accounting conventions

Preparing and submitting returns to the Regulator
*
Being accountable for the taxation service including quarterly VAT returns; corporation tax packs; HMRC inspections, visits and queries and PAYE settlement agreement figures
*
Ensuring that the financial reporting and management systems are effective and that internal financial controls are appropriate to provide the required levels of assurance
*
Assisting the Director of Finance to ensure there is adequate risk management control over all company activities
About you
Our client’s ideal candidate will:
*
Have a background in accountancy along with experience of producing financial and management accounting statements, completing VAT return and corporation tax calculations and knowledge of VAT partial exemption
*
Have experience of writing reports, policies and procedures to board level
*
Be a CIPFA, ACCA or CIMA qualified accountant
*
Demonstrate strong technical knowledge of accountancy, VAT, and taxation
*
Be commercially aware with the ability to understand and anticipate the needs of operations and support services
*
Have the ability to clearly explain and present technical financial information to non-experts
*
Have some experience of leading and managing a finance and accounting team
