The Company

We are seeking a commercially aware Head of Finance to take responsibility of the day-to-day running of finance on a permanent, full-time basis. This role is critical for the continued financial success of the company and is best suited to someone that enjoys working within a fast-growing business and a start-up culture. Managing a small, growing team this is a superb opportunity for an experienced, hands on, qualified finance leader. The successful candidate will be charged with driving an open financial culture, ensuring that the leadership team are financially savvy and coached into understanding and working with detailed forecasts and budgets.

The Role
As the Head of Finance, your role will involve:
– Preparation (and development) of the monthly management accounts, including analysis of budget variances, KPI analysis along with accompanying commentary
– Preparation of the annual budget and updated rolling forecasts
– Presentation of accurate and timely financial results and insights to the leadership team and Board; including the ability to articulate results to non-financially trained people
– Cultivating strong internal and external stakeholder relationships
– Ensuring all accounting policies, systems, processes, and controls are documented and compliant for audit and comply with relevant financial regulations
– Responsibility for all statutory reporting (including managing day to day relationship with the companies’ external auditors and tax advisors)
– Overseeing all elements of the finance department, including but not limited to debtors, creditors, tax, treasury, payroll, financial and management accounting functions
– Recruiting, leading and developing the finance team as it grows both organically and via acquisitions
– Ad-hoc projects as required, such as providing support during an acquisition
About You
To be considered as the Head of Finance, you will need:
– To be an ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified accountant with a minimum of two (ideally three) years’ industry experience
– Previous work experience as a senior leader in a finance role
– Hands-on experience with forecasting and budgeting
– Strong Excel and forecasting and/or modelling skills
– An in-depth understanding of Financial Statement production and covenant analysis
– Strong technical understanding of FRS102
– Outstanding leadership, communication, and presentation skills
– Solid analytical and decision-making skills
– The ability to travel to the Greater Manchester-based office daily during probationary period and thereafter a minimum of three days per week
A BSc and/or a BA in Accounting or Finance is desirable.
