The role
The COO Finance Business Partner will be supporting on the monthly expenses, forecasting, trend, and variance analysis of COO which will include IT capital projects and expenditures; assist in the forecasting and planning of the IT operating budget to help drive forward-looking data driven decisions and make recommendations for optimization opportunities. This role reports into the Senior Group Expenses Business Partner. Aspen Values are demonstrated in the delivery and performance of the role.
Key accountabilities
Strategy and Planning
Assists in the preparation and implementation of the operational team plans to ensure these are in line with wider business strategy and reflect key priorities
Contributes to, monitors and advises on the plan developments and changes in order to ensure relevancy, compliance and optimal delivery
Contribute to BVA process, providing insight and analysis on group expense postings and allocation process
Support Senior Group Expense business partner with production of monthly group expense packs for COO/IT/ChangePolicy, Process and Procedures
Utilize in-depth disciplinary knowledge to understand the strategy of COO/IT/Change and partner with them to support in developing a forward-looking annual budget, forecasts, trend and variance analysis to support IT in delivering higher strategic value
Support in ensure the right data is there at the right time to ensure proactive analysis and forecasting enabling identification and documentation of issues, variances and trends
Apply trend, variance, and on-going proactive monitoring of IT capital and operational expenditures to aid in minimizing the risk to go over plan
Support in annual budget forecasts, 3 year strategic and operating plans and monthly estimate outlook process
Proactively approach analysis and reporting with a laser focus to identify financial concerns and opportunities
Support in developing and maintaining a robust forecasting process that is collaborative, balances IT goals with desired financial outcomes, and is delivered in an accurate and timely manner
Compare annual operating budget in contrast to actual information to reconcile discrepanciesEnvironmental Awareness/Customer Focus
Establish and maintain relationships with appropriate client stakeholders, providing day-to-day contact
Responds to user and service requests on a timely basis, ensuring adherence to SLAs
Establishes, strengthens and develops relationships with stakeholders to support their needs, maximise influence, and achieve business objectivesSkills & experience
Knowledge And Experience
Previous experience in the Insurance/financial services industry (ideal but necessary)
Deep understanding of the managed service and consulting providers
Strong understanding of underlying needs of the business and how own role contributes to these
Business and financial awareness of the impact of Service Levels and any associated failures
Business partnering experience working with senior stakeholders
2 yr+ post qualification work experience to include
Experience with IT Budgeting, operating expenses and forecasting
Evidence of supporting technical and operational strategy
Project accounting experienceOther
