Our client, a major UK retail bank, provides every day banking services to over 17 million retail customers. The banks expertise and services span across Business Services, Corporate banking, Wealth Management, Group Functions, Retail and Investment Banking.

On behalf of this organisation, AMS are looking for a Governance Manager for a 6 month contract based in Manchester

Purpose of the Role:

The Consumer Duty programme is a large-scale, multi-year remediation programme in response to recent FCA guidance. The Bank does not have sufficient capacity or capabilities to complete the review and redress of all associated business areas, and as such will be partnering with a number of Third Party suppliers to support in the initial review and subsequent implementation of the controls that have been identified.

Also supporting Amethyst:

Project Amethyst is a complex multi-year remediation programme, building on the skilled person's review of Phases 1 & 2. The project will seek to review ~400k customers to determine potential financial detriment that may have arisen from unsuitable advice

you will be responsible for:

Support the reporting and management of third-party suppliers, in line with contractual agreements and programme requirements

– Guidance and support of PMs & Senior leadership Bank through financial governance forums

– Co-ordinate contract negotiation between varying Bank & Supplier parties

– Preparation of packs and secretariat duties or associated monthly governance forum

– Support the Financial Controller in ad-hoc finance related

– Management of risks and issues

What we require from the candidate:

Governance packs (every day / every other day) packs to be prepared.
– minute taking across the internal teams an external suppliers
– information gathering from internal parties
– internal regulatory documentations to be completed
– Stakeholder managementThis client will only accept workers operating via an Umbrella or PAYE engagement model.
