Our client is a large not for profit organisation whose head office is based in Liverpool. Due to an internal promotion we are seeking to appoint to a key post in finance for a Financial Controls Manager. The role will support key finance stakeholders in the management and development of the financial control environment across the group.
The role of Financial Controls Manager :
* Ensure that all the processes are fully defined, properly documented and compliant with the relevant accounting standards to ensure good financial control
* Review routine finance processes and controls to ensure they are appropriate and highlight any risks
* Undertake regular testing across finance to ensure compliance and financial robustness
* Work with both financial and non-financial colleagues to ensure financial controls are applied to all key systems and processes
* Undertake a deep analysis and audit review of controls and processes across a range of financial outputs to formally identify an effective internal controls framework
* Work closely with the Finance Processing Manager and Financial Accounting Manager to ensure month end processes and procedures, such as balance sheet reconciliation and month end journals, are processed in a timely and accurate manner
* Monitor unresolved issues
* Raise awareness of the importance of strong financial controls
This will be a high profile role within finance and will have interaction with a number of key stakeholders. It is essential you can communicate effectively and be able to challenge professionally and appropriately as and when required. This role would suit an ACA / ACCA first or second time mover from the profession. Whilst the post is based in Liverpool it can be based in Liverpool or London or done entirely remotely
