Job Description
Payroll Administrator / Accounts Assistant

Rackheath – £25,000

Due to expansion, a new opportunity has arisen for the role of a Payroll Administrator / Accounts Assistant.

This is a key role within the business, to support with payroll process within the Finance Team.

Payroll Administrator / Accounts Assistant you will report directly to the Finance Director.

Responsibilities:

Accurately completing and processing end to end company weekly payroll for approximately 150 employees. From timesheet to bank payment and accounting entries

Updating employee payroll records for tax code changes, statutory payments (SSP, SMP, SPP, PAYE and NIC) and process starters and leavers in accordance with regulatory and company policy.

Complete weekly submissions to HMRC and be point of contact for queries and correspondence.

Providing full support for payroll enquiries liaising with internal management, staff and 3 rd parties as required.

Prepare payroll files for validation and import into Sage accounts
Liaising with suppliers and sub-contractors to challenge anomalies and ensure due credits are received within the same period to enable the capture of accurate month end ledger
Skills/Experience

– Minimum 2 years' experience of working within a payroll administration / accounts environment with sound knowledge and experience of Sage payroll software or similar systems.

– Meticulous attention to detail and a focus on accuracy

– The ability to work to strict defined deadlines

– Confident with IT and good working knowledge of Sage and Excel is required.
