We’re excited to be partnering with a specialist business based in the Portsmouth area to recruit a Financial Controller. Our client is seeking someone with an all-round accounting knowledge gained through experience. Duties of the Financial Controller will include but not limited to:

* Bank reconciliations of multiple companies

* Posting bank payments

* Processing of staff expenses and credit cards

* Processing of all purchase ledger

* Preparation of supplier payment run

* Processing HMRC payments, ensuring deadlines are met

* Preparing and submitting VAT returns

* Preparing and posting wages journals, movement journals, prepayments and accruals

* Raising sales invoices

* Allocating cash received

* Liaising with clients and dealing with invoice queries

* Preparing monthly P&L

* Project Reporting from Sage

* Producing the management accounts for approval

* Preparing and processing monthly internal payroll

* Preparing and processing external weekly payroll

Our client is seeking someone who can work proactively and build positive relationships with clients and staff. The successful candidate will have experience of working on Sage with Project reporting and will be able to work with a high level of accuracy to strict timelines. Experience in the Construction sector is desired, but not essential.
