Job Description
Location: Flexible working available, where you can be based from one of our Loughton, Basingstoke or Sheffield offices, with home working available and some travel to other offices/sites across the UK
Business Area: Kier Places – Facilities Management, Housing Maintenance & Capital Projects – Finance team
Contract & hours: Permanent, full time, 37.5 hours per week
Kier Places are recruiting now for a Finance Business Partner to join our Kier Places Finance team to oversee all aspects of the Business Unit financial and management reporting, and ensure best practise in financial control, treasury management and statutory compliance. As a people orientated leader, you'll be able to support and develop a high performing finance team, and you'll become pivotal in the development of digital reporting.
Key Responsibilities
For Kier Places, the Finance Business Partner is a newly established role which will provide overarching financial responsibility, best practise, and consistency across all aspects of finance for this business area, which consists of Facilities Management, Housing Maintenance and Capital Projects.
This role will lead in overseeing all corporate and statutory reporting, ensuring adherence to Group timetables, policies and best practise; take the lead in developing business unit digital reporting; build and shape a high performing central finance function; and provide guidance and best practise to the Finance function. Supporting the Finance Director, you will help establish a strong control environment, which supports the business strategy, growth aspirations and embeds a Performance Excellence culture.
Collaboratively working, you'll ensure the timely and accurate delivery of weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting, and oversee month-end close activities, ensuring a robust month-end process and strong balance sheet control; oversee the central overhead budgets, Group recharges and costings; be responsible for treasury management, overseeing working capital management, and ensuring compliance with Group policies, all whilst managing relationships with key stakeholders, including internal functions, business stream and management teams.
As a Finance Business Partner we'll trust you to highlight deviations in financial performance & compliance and influence corrective actions to embed process improvement; use excellent analytical skills to develop KPI's and early warning indicators; think at both a strategic and operational level; and ensure consistent implementation & adoption of operating frameworks and financial controls.

What do we need from you?
Is this your opportunity for the taking? To be our Finance Business Partner you'll hold be a Qualified Accountant with professional qualification in a relevant finance or accountancy subject (e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA), have experience of operating in a property services or construction-related environment, and be a strong team leader to gain the best from the finance team.
To make the most of this role, you'll need the ability to engage & influence across multiple levels of stakeholders and functions; be accountable, responsible, transparent with high levels of integrity, committed to driving continuous improvement, and be results driven whilst managing risk profiles and compliance.
