Job Description
Role: Finance Assistant

Location: Birmingham – Hybrid working

Type: Temporary – Full Time

Duration: Three to Six months

Hourly rate: £9 to £12 per hour plus holiday pay

Sellick Partnership are representing a Public Sector organisation in Birmingham. They are looking for a dynamic Finance assistant, who is able to deal with a large volume of Invoices, Vat and Reconciliations. This opportunity as a Finance Assistant is on a full time basis, which has the opportunity to work from home part of the week.

Due to an increased workload, our Client is looking for an enthusiastic, hardworking, and self-motivated Finance Assistant who will be responsible for ensuring that suppliers' invoices and credit notes are processed efficiently.

Key responsibilities for the Finance Assistant:

Ensure that all invoice/credit notes are registered promptly and accurately
Responsible for checking invoices
Dealing with any discrepancies
Reviewing statements received from suppliers
Review and complete the supplier ledgers
Maintain effective working relationships
Correspond the key internal and external stakeholders when required
General administration duties

The Ideal candidate for the Finance Assistant will have:

The ability to demonstrate initiative, whilst able to take direction
Be a partly qualified accountant, or be working towards a qualification in accounting
Minimum of 2 years' experience in Finance (Preferably Accounts Payable)
Be proficient in Microsoft Excel (Pivot tables, VLOOKUPS, formulas etc)
Excellent analytic skills to understand complex supplier ledgers
Oracle ERP experience will be beneficial

The Finance Assistant will be an excellent communicator, and will be able to work with high volumes of work, whilst prioritising their workload.
