Job Description
Finance Apprentice – Permanent position based in Northwich
Starting salary is 13k with annual increases for 2 years and post apprenticeship earnings of over 20k

The Finance team will be at the core of this growth, being a key enabler on the journey. We have a fantastic opportunity for a Finance Apprentice to join our business and this opportunity presents the varied, challenging and full workload associated with a £200m turnover business which is part of the international TATA group.
What is the role?
As a Finance Apprentice, initially you will be responsible for maintaining the group’s Sales Ledger in order to ensure that all invoices are recorded on a timely basis, in line with the company’s internal procedures and to ensure that external obligations to suppliers are met.
As well as learning on the job, you will enrol onto the Level 2 AAT qualification which will give you the building blocks for your role as an accounts assistant. Successful completion of the Level 2 will start you on the pathway of further study to advance you in your Finance career with our supportive and growing Finance team here at TCE.

A self-starter with excellent planning and organisation skills Methodical, with an eye for detail and committed to high standards of accuracy
Key responsibilities –
• Pre-process purchase invoices in order to ensure they comply with the group’s Order to Cash policies.
• Post cash receipts ensuring payments are recorded accurately against the customer’s account.
• Review and resolve aged items and debit balances in the Purchase Ledger and to prepare supplier statement reconciliations in line with the schedule
• Chase customer accounts for payment.
• Identify and match unallocated cash.
• Identify and resolve queried invoices. Contacting customers via telephone or email.
• Respond to queries from other stakeholders including external auditors and wider business teams. • Daily credit risk assessments and releasing of orders.
• Open new Sales Ledger accounts.
• Review and recommend credit limits
• Be a key part of the Order to Cash process
• Ad-hoc reporting as required to assist month end activities
• Ability to assist other members of the Finance Team when resources are needed.
Required grades – GCSE (Grade 4-9) or equivalent in English and Maths.
Required skills – Excellent communication skills, both in person and digitally. Competent user of Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
Planning and organisational skills Even better if you have – Any type of work experience that you have taken part in through school or experience of working in teams outside of a school environment
