Job Description
Casanovas Recruitment Solutions are excited to be representing a new client based in Rainham, Essex, that are looking for a Commercial Accountant. This is a full time, permanent position.
Commercial Accountant Job Overview/Purpose:
This is a key role within Finance department, and will engage with senior managers, and board directors across the business. This role is responsible for all commercial analysis within the business, and whilst part of the finance team, will enjoy direct and regular contact with the managing director.
Commercial Accountant is responsible for:
* Commercial appraisal of new products
* Product profitability analysis / review
* Customer performance – Trends v Budget / Forecasts etc
* Maintenance of monthly / quarterly profit forecasts
* Maintenance of monthly / quarterly sales reports
* Promotional Analysis – Effectiveness / Uplifts / Base Line Sales etc.
* Utilisation of IRI data and overlay of external commercial data with internal information.
* Marketing Analysis – ROI
* Competitor Analysis
* Active participation in the planning cycle, from a commercial perspective
* Business support partnering – Working with sales and marketing teams to provide financial / commercial insight.
* Regular and Ad-Hoc reporting, using both MS Excel JD Edwards (ERP) and Cognos reporting tool.
About the Commercial Accountant Candidate:
* This role is for an experienced and keen part qualified / qualified accountant, with a business partnering / commercial accounting background. (CIMA / ACCA)
* Be proactive with the ability to consider the big picture.
* The person should have a minimum of five years’ experience in this type of role. The applicant must have the ability to demonstrate extensive experience in financial analysis.
* The successful candidate should be a team player, with a can-do attitude.
* Have exceptional relationship building skills
* It is key that they work in a collaborative role with all levels of management and staff within the organisation and are driven to make a difference to colleagues and the wider business as a whole.
* The successful candidate must be a self-starter
